Chizuru Yukimura is a young woman who, disguised as a boy, traveled to Kyoto to search for her missing father. One night, however, she gets chased by ronin, and tries to hide. Just as she is about to be found, the ronin is attacked by demons. As the demons close in on Chizuru, Shinsengumi members appear and dispatch the demons. At the Shinsengumi headquarters, Chizuru explains who she is and why she is in Kyoto. The Shinsengumi allow her to live at their headquarters, as they are looking for her father as well.
