Today, the BBMP's horticultural department lists over 1,200 neighbourhood parks (pdf) on its website, amounting to a total area of nearly two sq km. Bengaluru spans 2,196 sq km, meaning the parks account for less than 0.1% of the city's total area. Many of Bengaluru's neighbourhood parks are now landscaped and gated.14-Sep-2018
